I can only give 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to test it's UV protection. I just haven't been to altitude since buying it and that's where I really need the sun protection. I had been using a beeswax based lip protection for probably 30 years, but recently realized it has oxybenzone in it. I always liked that it's more stiff and not slimy or oily like other lip protections. I'll just have to get used to the slipperyness of the SunSmooch. I'm definitely into the clean ingredients, though, since that's why I switched.
