Refund policy

We're a small business, and we make everything by hand. If something isn't right, tell us — we read every message and we want you to be happy with what you bought.

Because we sell several different kinds of products, the rules vary a bit by category. Here's exactly how it works.


Return Window

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return.


What Can Be Returned

Skincare (balms, butters, lip balm, deodorant, shampoo bars, soap)

For health and safety reasons, we can only accept returns of skincare that is unopened, unused, and in its original packaging with any seals intact.

Once a skincare product has been opened or used, we can't accept it back or resell it. This is standard for handmade cosmetics and it protects every customer who orders from us.

If you've opened it and something is wrong, don't just eat the cost — email us. See "If Something's Wrong" below. We handle those case by case, and we'd rather fix it than lose you.

Home Goods (candles, cutting board wax, leather balm)

Returnable within 30 days if unused and in original packaging. Candles must not have been burned.

Apparel & Totes

Returnable within 30 days if unworn, unwashed, and in original condition. Because our shirts and bags are printed by hand to order, please check the size chart before ordering.

Never Returnable

  • Refills. Once product has been dispensed into your container, it can't be returned.
  • Gift cards.
  • Final sale and clearance items. These are marked clearly at checkout.

If Something's Wrong

Please open your package and look at it as soon as it arrives.

Contact us right away if:

  • Your item arrived damaged or broken
  • You received the wrong item
  • Something is defective

Email [boriblisstallow@gmail.com] within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We'll make it right — replacement, refund, or store credit, whichever you prefer. You won't pay return shipping on our mistakes.

Melted or Softened Balms

Our balms contain no synthetic stabilizers, so they can soften or melt in transit during warm weather. This is normal and doesn't affect safety or performance.

To fix it: put the closed jar in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes to let it re-solidify. The texture may look a little different than when it was first whipped, but it works exactly the same.

Melting in transit is not considered a defect and isn't eligible for a refund or replacement. We know that's not the answer anyone wants — it's the tradeoff of a product made without synthetic additives, and we'd rather be upfront about it than pretend otherwise. If you're ordering in summer, consider expedited shipping and bring your package inside promptly.

Reactions and Sensitivities

Everyone's skin is different. If a product doesn't agree with you, stop using it and email us. While opened skincare isn't returnable as a rule, we handle reaction cases individually — reach out and we'll talk about it.

We always recommend patch testing a new product on a small area first, especially if you have sensitive skin.


How to Start a Return

  1. Email us first at [boriblisstallow@gmail.com] with your order number and what you'd like to return. Items sent back without an approved return request will not be accepted.
  2. We'll confirm whether your item is eligible and send you instructions.

Who Pays for Return Shipping

  • Our error (damaged, defective, wrong item): we pay. We'll send you a prepaid label.
  • Change of mind (you just don't want it): [you pay return shipping / a $10.00 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund].

 

Exchanges

The fastest way to get what you want is to return your item and place a new order once the return is approved. That way you're not waiting on us to process one before shipping the other.


Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll email you to let you know whether it was approved.

If approved, your refund goes back to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or credit card company may take additional time to post it.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you still don't see it, email us at [boriblisstallow@gmail.com] and we'll chase it down.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable [unless the return is due to our error].


In-Store & Farmers Market Purchases

This policy covers online orders only.

For purchases made at our Doylestown shop or at a farmers market, please bring your receipt to the store within [30] days. [Store purchases are eligible for exchange or store credit / follow the same rules as above].
